Halo fans the world over rejoice, not only did we get an amazing finale for the second season of the television series, but we get details on how you can play once again in this amazing universe on your own coffee table!
Halo Flashpoint has just been previewed over at Adepticon and videos have started to surface showing off what you get in this player verses player game, how the game works and hints at what’s coming in the future.
Halo Flashpoint is a quick-to-learn and fast paced miniatures game that captures the multiplayer style of the classic Halo Combat Evolved game and allows you to recreate that feeling on the tabletop as you fight against a friend in a Spartan -on-Spartan arena-styled event.
Rather than having lots of models to worry about if you are new to the hobby, Halo Flashpoint sees you controlling teams of 2 to 4 models apiece and the models in the game are made of hard and durable plastic and moulded in both red and blue so those who are worried that they will have issues painting can rest assured that they will still have a great deal of fun.
The game is a reworking of the classic Deadzone from Mantic Games, who have taken a very popular existing game system and tailored it to fit the Halo universe, simplifying some aspects, while adding others, to give newcomers to the hobby who are coming in from the back of the console game or the television show itself and may not have had any exposure to the world of tabletop gaming.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Halo Flashpoint as there are plans for much more than the launch products down the line including organised play, something that Deadzone does very well around the world. Being based on an already tried and tested game system has allowed Mantic to fine tune Halo Flashpoint to allow for very fast paced games that even a novice to gaming will pick up in very short space of time.
Preorders of both versions of the game are now live at the Mantic Webstore and directly from the brand new Halo Flashpoint website which just went live, and if you are in the first 1,000 people to order the Spartan Edition you will receive a Master Cheif model for free!
